John Pye Vehicles division was started in 2011 to serve the growing needs of our clients with a route to sell their cars, vans, motorbikes, commercial and articulated vehicles. Working with individuals, motor traders, local councils and Central Government with a mix of vehicles, from Teslas to trucks, vans to Vespas.

Last year we sold approximately 15,000 vehicles through our weekly public online auctions, across our network of sites throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Enabling our 800,000 registered customers the ability to place bids 24 hours a day using our bespoke auction platform and the option of inspecting the vehicles in person at the weekly viewings.

The standard online sale previews are available from the Friday afternoon before the sales. The online auctions go live every Monday afternoon and finish on the Wednesday from 10.00am. (Excluding Bank Holidays)

We can offer standalone auctions should your vehicle be of high value, or you have a high volume such as a fleet clearance, this option would also include targeted marketing and promotion of this sale.

Vehicles entered before 12.00 noon on Friday will qualify for inclusion in the following weeks sale.

Customer viewing in person is available on the Wednesday, 8.30am – 10.00am

We have sold all of the following vehicle types in our auctions, with or without a V5C (they can be sold with a V62):

Every vehicle is HPI checked for outstanding finance, stolen, recorded insurance loss and damage (we will accept category S/N vehicles for auction). We also conduct additional security checks upon receipt of the vehicle checking the VIN and chassis numbers against the V5C or the HPI Report.

We can accept vehicles without keys or that do not start, however, there is no option to set a reserve price on these vehicles.

Free valuation by a member of our team using a market leading service to give an estimated auction value, all we need from you is the registration number and mileage.

Account Manager assigned to you, available Monday to Friday via telephone, email, text and WhatsApp.

Weekly sale status updates

The entry of a vehicle into auction includes preparation, photography, HPI checks, marketing via Email, YouTube, social media and once sold, final payment transfer.

All of our sites are secure, with 24 hour CCTV coverage.

Peace of mind that all registered bidders provide photo ID and proof of address, and we will notify the DVLA on your behalf regarding change of ownership after sale complete, meaning there’s less paperwork for you to worry about.

If required, we offer a de-stickering service for your vehicle at a separate, negotiable cost.

No payment is required from you, until your vehicle is sold and paid for by winning bidder, only then do we deduct the fees from your final invoice.

If unsold, the vehicle will be re-entered into the following sale, however if setting a reserve price, the 3rd sale will be without a reserve. Alternatively, you have the option to collect the vehicle with no charge to you for the previous sales.

You will receive your payment just 7-10 days after successful auction sale, via bank transfer to the account of your choice.
