John Pye & Sons, Awarded the FORS Silver Accreditation

In 2022, we proudly joined the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) as a Bronze-accredited member, implementing a comprehensive suite of fleet-related policies and procedures. Since then, our Nottingham site has worked tirelessly to ensure compliance with FORS standards, and we have now progressed to Silver accreditation. The FORS framework is maintained as part of our SHEQ department, reflecting our commitment to safety, health, environment, and quality.

This accreditation is supported by a dedicated team fulfilling roles such as Road Risk Champion, Fuel & Emissions Champion, and Security and Counter-Terrorism Champion. In recent years, our drivers and line managers have undergone FORS-accredited training in essential topics such as Pedestrian Safety, Smart Deliveries, and Smart Driving.

By embedding the FORS standard, we have achieved reductions in fuel consumption and fleet operational costs. Initiatives such as minimising vehicle idling, conducting regular tyre checks, and undertaking proactive fleet maintenance have delivered significant efficiencies while reducing our environmental impact.

We are immensely proud of the progress we have made in implementing FORS standards at John Pye & Sons. It underscores our unwavering dedication to operating a safer, more sustainable, and efficient fleet and we now have our sights on the Gold Accreditation.
